Today, SDAWG participated in a Chatham House panel discussion, “Making the Case for #COP in a Fractured Geopolitical Environment,” alongside the President of #COP30, Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, as #COP31 host, and Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, as #COP32 President-Designate.
The discussion centred on the agenda for #COP31 in Antalya, building on #COP30‘s outcomes and looking ahead to #COP32 in Addis Ababa, and on what climate diplomacy can still deliver as geopolitical pressure intensifies.
#SDAWG continues to advocate for the case of Somalia and fragile states: countries among the least responsible for the climate crisis and most exposed to its consequences, yet structurally disadvantaged in reaching both the negotiating table and the finance that follows.
