Today, we join hands across borders to mark the International Day of Peace—not as a passive hope, but as a call to action.

Peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the presence of justice, dignity, and inclusive systems that honour every voice. For Somalia and its global diaspora, peace means reclaiming ownership, investing in unity, and building resilient structures rooted in Somali ownership.

As the Somali Diaspora Advocacy Working Group, we reaffirm our commitment to:

• Protecting vulnerable communities through principled advocacy
• Mobilising diaspora capital for sustainable development
• Advancing Somali-led solutions in regional and global forums

Let this day remind us: peace is not gifted—it is built. And we, the Somali diaspora, are builders.
